From a young age I have always been active and had a passion for sport. Throughout my life I have played a wide variety of sports particularly Racquet Sports (badminton). My sporting background is what ignited my interest into the field of Sports therapy, as I witnessed many injuries (both to myself and others). I found it fascinating how my teammates could go from not being able to walk (as a result of their injury), to then performing at their optimal level after receiving Sports Therapy. I wanted to become a Sports Therapist so that I could make a difference to peoples lives and get them back to doing the things that they love and back to their peak performance.
During my time at University I gained lots of valuable experience, through working with Tottonians RFC and within the clinical setting at the University of Chichester. My three favourite areas to treat are the shoulder, lower back and knee. The reason for this being that I have had lots of practical experience treating a wide range of injuries within these areas and find it rewarding seeing the progress that the client has made.
To sum up, I would say I am a friendly and approachable person whose main focus is treating the person as a whole, rather than just an injury. I am not satisfied until the client is able to complete the activities they love, regardless of how challenging their overall goal is.
