During our running clinic assessments we use video analysis of your technique to answer these questions.

This will help aid us during your assessment which will be carried out by one of our experienced therapists. The session will include
prescription of a personalised rehabilitation and treatment to start your recovery process.

‘Overuse injuries’ can mean that increases a variety of running factors such as mileage, frequency or intensity are resulting in you becoming injuried. If this is the case we shall find the cause of the injury and discuss our altering your plan will benefit you.

‘Previous injury’, is a risk factor for further injury – partically when discussing muscles. This can causes movement patterns to place higher stresses on certain structures. Alternatively, previous injury can lead to changes in movement patterns or compensations that may increase the likelihood of further injury.

‘Biomechaics’ are you just starting out or have you been running for years? It does not matter, correcting or making slight alterations to your technique.  Regardless of your ability, you’ll be less likely to pick up an injury and you will see a noticeable difference in your performance.

What should I expect in the first session?

During your first session we will discuss your symptoms so that we can understand exactly what your going through. We will then use our skills to find out what is causing your pain and assess your running style, before starting your treatment plan. By the end of the session a treatment and recovery plan will be agreed between yourself and your therapist. Your first session will last approximately 60 minutes, any follow up appointments that are required will last up to 30 minutes.

WHO DO I NEED TO SEE?
Will I see the Same therapist each session?

Yes, excluding extenuating circumstances once you are booked in with a therapist you will stay with them for your course of treatment. If they feel your needs will be better suited with another practitioner this will be discussed with you.

How many sessions will I need?

This will vary depending on the injury, the length of time you have been suffering with the pain and how well you implentment our advice. On average, our patients recover in 6 sessions.

Are there stairs?

Our treatment room is situated on the ground floor and is easily accessible.

DO I NEED TO SEE MY GP FIRST?

You do not need to see or be referred by a GP to book a visit with us. We currently do see a lot of patients referred by their GP. We may contact your GP on your behalf if needed.

Should I take my painkillers before my session?

Yes, if you are currently taking painkillers for your pain, you are able to take normal painkillers before any appointment. It won’t affect how we treat or assess. If you are not currently taking painkillers, do not take any before seeing us.

Do you accept insurance?

Unfortantely, we do not accept insurance treatment plans. We can provide you with an invoice for you to claim back from your insurer.

Do you do home visits?

We do offer home visits. Please contact us via email or by calling us to arrange this due to the added planning.
