REPS Level 2 Personal Training

Jordan is also able to perform:

Instrument Assisted Soft-Tissue Manipulation

Inspired by his own previous injuries (lower back and knee pain – resulting in surgery and 2 injections) Jordan studied Sports Therapy (MSci) at the University of Chichester and, this has led Jordan to have a particular interest in lower back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain.

As a Graduate Sports Therapist, Jordan is able to assess, treat and rehabilitate patients suffering with muscle, joint or nerve related symptoms. Through completing his Masters, he is now able to treat and all areas of the body – including the Jaw.

Sports Therapist & Rehab Specialist

Lewis’s Story

Qualifications

Undergraduate Degree in Sports Therapy (BSc Hons)

REPS Level 3 Exercise Referral  (Personal Training)

Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Fitness Training

From a young age I have always been active and had a passion for sport. Throughout my life I have played a wide variety of sports particularly Racquet Sports  (badminton). My sporting background is what ignited my interest into the field of Sports therapy, as I witnessed many injuries (both to myself and others). I found it fascinating how my teammates could go from not being able to walk (as a result of their injury), to then performing at their optimal level after receiving Sports Therapy. I wanted to become a Sports Therapist so that I could make a difference to peoples lives and get them back to doing the things that they love and back to their peak performance.

During my time at University I gained lots of valuable experience, through working with Tottonians RFC and within the clinical setting at the University of Chichester. My three favourite areas to treat are the shoulder, lower back and knee. The reason for this being that I have had lots of practical experience treating a wide range of injuries within these areas and find it rewarding seeing the progress that the client has made.

To sum up, I would say I am a friendly and approachable person whose main focus is treating the person as a whole, rather than just an injury. I am not satisfied until the client is able to complete the activities they love, regardless of how challenging their overall goal is.

Emily’s Story

Qualifications

Pilates Instrutor
Undergraduate Degree in Physiotherapy

I qualified in Physiotherapy from the University of Manchester in 2003 and worked in the NHS for 2 years to consolidate my physiotherapy skills across a broad range of areas, including orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients, and chronic pain management.

I specialised in treating musculoskeletal conditions as a senior physiotherapist and worked in a wide variety of settings, including GP outpatient clinics, in the community and as a locum for the MOD, treating injuries sustained by soldiers during training. Treating chronic back pain is a particular interest and the successful results gained by core strengthening exercises led me to study as a Pilates instructor.

I have run my own Pilates business for the past 10 years and maintained my passion for keeping people living their best life by being active and maintaining muscle strength, flexibility and  joint range of motion.

In my experience, any acute or chronic musculoskeletal condition can be successfully treated with a problem-solving approach, using a combination of manual (hands on) therapy/soft tissue release, exercise rehabilitation and self-management techniques.  My experience also ensures that I know when it might be appropriate to refer patients on for further medical screening/testing if necessary.

One of the main reasons I love my job is the interaction with people and helping them to improve their quality of life.  I believe that  listening to patients , being respectful and making them feel comfortable is extremely important and I always aim to make the physio sessions enjoyable!

Our team of highly qualified and experience practioners are here to help you. Remember you do not need to be an athlete to see a Sports Therapist. All of our team will be able to help you with the pain and symptoms you are suffering from.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I saw Lewis after an acute adductor injury. His knowledge and skill is second to none and helped me to restore (and even improve) strength + ROM. Thanks again Lewis! Highly recommend if you're looking for a quality physio.

JADE ATTWOOD

I saw Lewis early December with a painful hip brought on during running. He diagnosed the issue as weakness/tightness of glutes and lower back. Six weeks and three sessions later I am pleased to say that a combination of massage, prescribed exercises and stretching have resolved the problem. Running again (carefully). I am delighted with the treatment given and would highly recommend Lewis. A combination of sound advice and a friendly approach. First class. Thank you.

IAN RICHARDSON

After rupturing my ACL back in December playing netball, I went to see Jordan at Active Motion to see what work he could do to get me ready for my op to reconstruct the ligament. Jordan has been absolutely fantastic and I couldn't recommend him enough. I am so much stronger and sometimes even forget about my injury due to the strength, mobility, and motion work. Jordan has ensured that I am both mentally and physically ready for the op and the rehab that will follow.

WILL I SEE THE SAME THERAPIST EACH SESSION?

Yes! Unless there are unforeseen circumstances, once you are booked in with a therapist you will stay with them for your course of treatment. If they feel your needs will be better suited with another practitioner this will be discussed with you.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

This will vary depending on the injury, the length of time you have been suffering with the pain and how well you implentment our advice. On average, our patients recover in 6 sessions.

Our treatment room is situated on the ground floor and is easily accessible.

DO I NEED TO SEE MY GP FIRST?

You do not need to see or be referred by a GP to book a visit with us. We currently do see a lot of patients referred by their GP. We may contact your GP on your behalf if needed.

SHOULD I TAKE MY PAINKILLERS BEFORE MY SESSION?

Yes, if you are currently taking painkillers for your pain, you are able to take normal painkillers before any appointment. It won’t affect how we treat or assess. However, if you can cope without taking them this is advised. If you are not currently taking painkillers, do not take any before seeing us.

We are currently in the process of being recognised by insurers, therefore, we can not accept insurance. However, we can provide an invoice for you to claim sessions back from your medical insurer.
